THE RIDE HOME
HARLEY DAVIDSON'S
100TH ANNIVERSARY
DAY 6 (Portland Oregon to Kennewick Washington)
DAY 6 / 285 MILES
Day 6: Leaving out of Destination Harley Davidson at 9am, it was a sight to
see! The city police blocked the freeway and the onramps to the freeway just
below Destination H-D to allow some 500+ motorcycles to depart on Leg-1 of The
Ride Home to Milwaukee Wisconsin. I rolled out with the first wave of bikes, and
as I said, it was a sight to see... bikes two abreast as far as the eye could
see! We work our way up the freeway with the sound of 100 locomotives and
pointed our Hogs for the Columbia Gorge. Still yet another site to see as part
of the pack crossed over the Columbia Gorge into Washington to take Hwy 14. This
was as awesome as awesome can get, now we had two trains of American Iron rumbling
up both the Oregon & Washington sides of the Gorge! I can only imagine that it's
going to get bigger and bigger with every leg of the trip.
